Unless graduating in absentia, doctoral candidates are required to attend both the Hooding Ceremony and their respective academic college commencement ceremony.
The Hooding Ceremony is different and separate from the academic college commencement ceremonies where you will be presented your diploma. During the Hooding Ceremony, you will be hooded by your faculty chairperson, and you will be recognized together with all doctoral degree candidates from all academic colleges. No doctoral hooding will be conducted during the academic college commencement ceremonies.
